This spring Tom Ohling presented the Chef In The Classroom and Cafeteria program to Kinnaman School. He spen two full days and an evening working with our students, teachers, support staff and parents.
His program was outstanding and I would highly recommend him to your school. Tom is very energetic and enthusiastic about his passion – food. His presentations were educational and entertaining.
The students learned about the new food pyramid chart, the importance of making nutritional choices, healthful eating habits, ways of enjoying food and its preparation. He included hands on activities, a multimedia presentation, and excellent demonstrations. The teachers were able to build on this background to extend student’s understanding about nutrition. The students loved their 45 minutge lesson with Tom. Many brought their parents back in the evening for the family presentation.
The parents were extremely positive about this fun, educational family activity. Tom provided parents with important nutritional information and ways to help their children eat a balanced healthy diet.
Tom was great to work with throughout the two days. He is very flexible, positive and fun to have at school. His program is one of the best available.
